Social Flexibility of Striped Mice
Striped mice (Rhabdomys pumilio) show extreme social flexibility, ranging from solitary living to living in extended family groups with communal breeding, paternal care and helpers at the nest. They are thus a good model to study the neuroendocrine mechanisms of group living, paternal care, communal breeding and helping behavior.
